The W995i is a sliding action phone which hides a numeric keypad. The phone is encased in metal with a 2.6 inch TFT screen capable of displaying up to 256,000 colours. The W995i is available in a choice of colours including progressive black, energetic red and cosmic silver or to you and me, black, red and silver!

Camera
The Sony Ericsson W995i is equipped with a Cybershot 8.1 megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash and 16 x digital zoom. Some of the features of camera include red eye reduction, image stabiliser, face detection, geo-tagging and picture blogging.
As well as still images the camera can shoot video WQVGA quality at 30 frames per second. The video camera has some cool features like a light for shooting in dark conditions and video blogging. Video blogging allows you to upload your videos directly to a live blog.
GPS
The camera also makes use of the built in GPS so you can Geo-Tag photos. The GPS also is used by Google Maps and a trial version of the turn by turn navigation software Wayfinder Navigator™
3G HSPA
The Sony W995i has 3G HSPA for super fast web browsing and video calls. The W995i has a built in Accelerometer when the phone is turned on its side you can view web pages and photos in landscape mode. As well as 3G the W995i is equipped with Wi-Fi so this gives you more than one option to surf the web. The maximum speed supported from the Wi-Fi is up to 2 Mb/s.
Web Browsing
The phone is equipped with Sony’s NetFront HTML browser which makes use of a virtual mouse pointer. NetFront supports WAP 2.0/HTML.
Multimedia
The W995i is equipped with Sony’s Walkman® music player which supports several file formats including MP3 and AAC. The media player has TrackID™ for identifying your music online using the Gracenote mobile MusicID database. The Shake control allows changing of tracks through a flick of your wrist. However this feature is annoying and more of a gimmick, luckily this is not the only way to change tracks. SensMe™ is a feature that enables you to create play lists based on mood and tempo. If you get bored of listening to your own music you can listen to the built in RDS radio or stream music from the web.
Memory
Memory wise the Sony Ericsson has 118mb. The storage can be expanded up to 16GB using Sony’s Memory Stick Micro™ (M2™).
Games
Games included on the Sony W995i include Bowling, Bubble Town, Diamond Island, Guitar Rock Tour and Nitro Street Racing, Playman Extreme Running and Real Football 2008.

To conclude the Sony Ericsson W995i is probably one of the best all round mobile phones currently available on the market. With an 8.1 megapixel Cybershot camera, Walkman media player and super fast mobile internet this really is a feature packed phone worth having.
