The LG Secret also known as the LG KF750 is the Slimmest 5 mega pixel camera slide phone currently available. With auto focus, flash and face tracking for producing great portrait photos. As well as still photos the Secret films high quality video in Divx format up to 120 frames per second, which can be played back in slow motion and edited on the phone.
There is a secondary camera in the front of the phone which can be used for video calling using the 3G HDSPA facility of the phone. HDSPA is super fast with speeds of up to 3.6 mbps, this allows for full web browsing, fast downloading and video and audio streaming.
The Phone is bundled with the Google package. Which includes Web Search, Blogging, Email, Map Finder and direct upload to YouTube. (The Google package maybe network dependant).
Audio wise the Secret has an FM radio and an audio player which plays all the audio formats you would expect. The phone memory is 100mb which will allow for around 25 audio tracks to be stored. This can be expanded up to 4gb using a microSD Card which will allow for up to a 1000 audio tracks.
The LG’s 2.4 QVGA touch screen is made of tempered glass so does not scratch that easily. The Touch screen facility has haptic feedback (vibrations in the the screen) and glows a neon blue across the screen when you touch a key. This is not a completely touch screen driven phone like the Apple IPhone. Rather most of the phones functions and navigation is done from the touch sensitive keypad. The touch screen is reserved for five multimedia functions, FM radio, music player, photo viewer, games and document viewer. LG labels these multimedia functions as Touch Media
Like the IPhone the LG Secret has an accelerometer which senses movement, this automatically changes the screen from portrait to landscape when the phone is tilted. This feature has been incorporated into the games that come with the phone. The games are Dart, Magic Ball, Maze, Home Run Derby, Hammer, and Fishing.
Some of the games are more like demo’s showcasing the capability of the phones accelerometer. Dart is a darts game as the name would imply. It uses a tilt action left and right to line up the dart and a flicking motion to throw the dart. There is no actual match just throw the darts and view your score.
Magic Ball is a computer version of the classic Magic Eight Ball toy that you shake and it gives you a decision like ‘Ask me later’ and such. With the LG you wave the phone about and press a button to get your decision.
Maze is guiding a ball through a varying selection of mazes to a hole at the end. No real game here as there is no scoring system for the time you take to complete it.
Home Run Derby is a mini baseball game where the idea is to hit the ball by shaking the phone at the right time. If you have a Nintendo Wii then you will have seen a similar game bundled in Wii Sports, except this is a cut down version.
Hammer is like the athletics hammer throwing event. Shaking the phone spins the hammer round while pressing a button releases the hammer with the distance thrown being measured.
Fishing is a basic fishing game, to cast flick the phone forward and to land the fish flick it backwards. You get three attempts with individual weight of all three attempts totalled to give you a score.
To sum up the LG Secret is a super slim slide phone, with HDSPA 3G for super fast web browsing, 5 mega pixel camera for excellent quality photos and video.
